Five Tips for implementing effectively a skill training by Areti


  1. Prepare the trainee by taking care to relax them. Lots of people find learning new things very stressful procedure.
  2. Explain the job, task, skill or project and discuss the method. Explain the standards, the necessary tools and the equipment or systems.
  3. Provide a step by step demonstration. The more complex, the more steps. People cannot absorb a whole complicated task all in one go, thus break it down and show the correct way. Do not forget to seek feedback and check understanding.
  4. Have the trainee practice the job, as we all learn best by actually doing it .      According to Confucius: "I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand".
  5. Always monitor the progress, give positive feedback, coach and adapt according to the pace of the group.
